Deadlines Overview (What’s Happening)

Closing Date

The closing date is the day the property officially transfers to the buyer. All required information from buyers, sellers, and beneficial owners must be collected before this date so the FinCEN Real Estate Report can be reviewed and prepared for filing immediately after closing.

On a Managed Plan, our filing team manages the full workflow data collection, tracking, review, and submission. You will receive a notification when the file becomes “FinCEN clear-to-close,” meaning all required information has been collected and the report is ready once the transaction closes.

Deadline Watch

Deadline Watch identifies reports with upcoming closing dates where required information is still missing. A report appears here when:

  1. The closing date is approaching, and
  2. One or more parties have not submitted their required details.

This section helps your team follow up early and avoid delays.

Beyond Expected Closing

This section lists reports where the scheduled closing date has already passed, but the report has not yet been marked as Closed in the system.

A report appears here when:

  1. The expected closing date is in the past, and
  2. The report has not been updated to reflect that the transaction did close or was canceled.

Closing Within 7 Days

This section shows all transactions scheduled to close within the next seven days and that require a FinCEN Real Estate Report. These files are approaching their deadlines, so they may need quick follow-up from the managing team.

A report appears here when:

  1. The scheduled closing date is within the next 7 days, and
  2. The transaction meets FinCEN’s reporting requirements.

Why this matters:

These reports are at risk of falling behind if buyers, sellers, or entity contacts still have outstanding information to submit or if the filing has not been marked as closed.

Early follow-up helps ensure all data is collected in time for the closing and prevents last-minute issues. The filing team at Fincen Real Estate Report is already monitoring these files and reaching out to any parties who have not yet completed their required forms.

If a transaction has been canceled, you may delete the pending report to stop reminder emails and remove it from your dashboard.

Filing Date

The filing date is when the FinCEN Real Estate Report is submitted to FinCEN.
Submission occurs after the transaction is marked closed in the system.

The filing team at Fincen Real Estate Report submits the report.
